Caime accepts offer to become county administrator

Jon Caime, Laurens County Administrator since May 2016, is one of five candidates to be interviewed on Wednesday for the same position in Horry County.

Before coming to Laurens, Caime served as Administrator in Hart County, Ga., for 15 years. The man he succeeded in Laurens, Ernie Segars, served in the position for 27 years.

Horry County Council will conduct interviews of Caime, State Rep. Alan Clemmons of Myrtle Beach, former Myrtle Beach City Councilman Wayne Gray, interim Administrator Steve Gosnell and former York County manager Bill Shanahan.

All five men being interviewed are currently living in South Carolina.

Caime, 54, is an engineering grad of Clemson University.
