INMAN – Mary Catherine Dailey won a hardfought match at No. 1 singles, but that was the sole highlight of Clinton’s loss at Chapman in the penultimate round of the Class 3A girls’ tennis playoffs on Monday.
Chapman advanced to the state finals with a 5-1 victory over the Red Devils, who finished the season 16-3.
Singles: Mary Catherine Dailey (Cl) defeated Elizabeth Williams 7-6 (4), 3-6, 10-4. Alex Kinlaw (Ch) defeated Chandler Dailey 6-2, 6-0. Westlyn Morris (Ch) defeated Gracie Spangler 6-0, 6-0. Molly Foxworth (Ch) defeated Reese Gowan 6-1, 6-2. Julianna Coates (Ch) defeated Jerri Hill 6-0, 4-6, 15-13.
Doubles: Angela Maksimov-Paige Melick (Ch) defeated Kaitey Threatt-Grace Johnson 6-4, 6-1.
