EDGEFIELD – Clinton remained undefeated in the District 3 3A Dixie Youth Minors (ages 9-10) baseball tournament with a 21-16 victory over previously unbeaten Batesburg-Leesville on Sunday night.

Third baseman led Clinton with four hits in five at-bats. First baseman Owen Glenn and second baseman Ryder Rowland were each 3-for-4. Outfielders Camden Finley and Aiden Price each drove in two runs and went 2-for-5.

Five hurlers – Zack Lawson, Williams, Price, Finley and Rowland – shared mound duties.

Clinton scored three runs in each of the first three innings, then added two in the fourth to take an 11-2 lead. Batesburg-Leesville scored seven runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as an error, four walks and a hit batter contributed to the rally.

Reassuming control, Clinton scored six runs in the fifth.

The game ended when catcher Talan Campbell threw out a B-L baserunner attempting to steal.

Clinton faces Starr-Iva on Monday at 8 p.m.
