Kenny Cook, who plays wide receiver for the Columbus Destroyers of the Arena Football League, had a big day in a 56-50 loss to the Washington Valor on Saturday.

The Cross Hill native – and former star at Clinton High School and Gardner-Webb University – caught seven passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

For the season, Cook has 28 catches for 393 yards and five touchdowns.

Cook, 27, wears No. 15 for the team in Ohio’s capital city and is listed on the roster at 6-4, 209 pounds. Cook spent 2015-16 with the Kansas City Chiefs, mostly on the practice squad.

At Gardner-Webb, Cook caught 64 passes for 752 yards and five touchdowns as a senior.
