For the second year in a row, Anna Gray Rowland of the LDHS girls’ golf team has qualified for Class 5A’s Upper State Championship on Monday at Waterford Golf Club in Rock Hill.

In their latest sweep of a Region 3-3A opponent, the Clinton High girls’ tennis team combined to win 72 games and lose six during 6-0 victory over Emerald on Tuesday.

The Red Devils are 11-2 overall, 9-0 in the region. They entered Wedneday’s match at home against Woodruff seeking a perfect region scorecard. The regular season ends on Thursday at Broome.

Singles: Mary Catherine Dailey (C) defeated Lacy Harris 6-2, 6-1. Chandler Dailey (C) defeated Rachel Gallman 6-0, 6-0. Gracie Spangler (C) defeated Kailyn Stubblefield 6-0, 6-0. Reese Gowan (C) defeated Mackenzie Cooley 6-1, 6-0. Jerri Hill (C) defeated Jaiden Carroll 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles: Kaitey Threatt-Grace Johnson (C) defeated Laney Alfred-Maddison Tyler 6-1, 6-0.

J.L. Mann shut out Laurens by a score of 7-0 in Tuesday girls’ tennis action in Region 1-5A.
