In Newberry, Clinton cranked out another 5-1 Region 3-3A victory. The Bulldogs were the victims of the Red Devils, who are 10-2 overall and 8-0 in region play.

Clinton picked up a pair of baseball victories at Woodruff, with the varsity team winning, 7-1, and the junior varsity, 11-1, over the Wolverines.
First baseman Konnor Richardson and pitcher Caleb Riddle had big nights for the Red Devils.
Richardson went 4-for-4, driving in runs with a third-inning single and a two-out, fourth-inning home run.
Riddle went the distance, allowing only four hits and an unearned run. He walked two and struck out five.
Blake Smith chipped in a pair of singles, and Riddle scored the first run after
Stetson Schubach took the loss, hurling 2-1/3 innings and allowing the first three Clinton (6-12, 3-5 Region 3-3A) runs. Jackson Schaum drove in the lone Woodruff run.
The Clinton junior varsity also defeated Laurens, 6-3, on Wednesday.
The LDHS junior varsity baseball team lost a two-hitter to T.L. Hanna on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets managed to score a run, while the Raiders, who had three hits, did not. Kalob Hamilton was a hard-luck loser on the mound.
Jordan Hudson pitched the Laurens “C” team to a 14-3 victory over Hanna on Thursday.
Parker Duncan’s early-second half goal gave Clinton boys’ soccer a decisive margin in its 2-0 Region 3-3A victory at Woodruff on Thursday night.
The Red Devils also scored on an own goal, deflected by a Wolverine player into his own team’s net, 25 minutes into the match.
It was the second of three games in consecutive nights.
The Red Devils were a bit thin, thanks to a late-season rash of injuries, but Clinton’s offense dominated possession, and keeper Hamp Barnes turned in a shutout.
Clinton (7-7, 4-4 region) visits Mid-Carolina on Friday – JV at 5, varsity at 7 – while the girls’ teams host the Rebels.
Kamryn Akins tossed a one-hitter, striking out 12, as Clinton (11-5, 4-5 Region 3-3A) defeated Woodruff 4-1 at home on Thursday night in softball.
The Red Devils collected eight hits – two apiece by Hunter Benson and Grayson Taylor – and including doubles by Akins and Savanna Campbell.
Woodruff took an eary lead with a third-inning run, but Clinton responded with a run in the fourth and three in the sixth.
Olivia Patton took the loss for the Wolverines.
