American Red Cross disaster-trained volunteers are assisting a family whose home, located on Apple Orchard Road near Clinton, was damaged by a fire last night.
The Clinton Fire Department responded to the blaze. The Red Cross is helping four adults by providing financial assistance for food, clothing, lodging and other essentials, as well as comfort kits containing personal hygiene items.
The fire began in an outdoor grill and quickly spread to the roof. According to Clinton Public Safety director Robin Morse, home was quickly inundated and almost destroyed.
