Luke White pitched one inning, allowing one hit and one run. Caleb Taylor pitched the second and third innings, giving up one hit and striking out three.
Clinton scored five runs in the first inning off of three singles and two walks. The inning was highlighted by a bases clearing, 3-run double from Landen Vo.
Clinton scored six more runs in the second inning, including run scoring doubles from Kason and Justin Copeland.
Clinton put their last five runs on the scoreboard in the third inning, making the final 16-1. Justin Copeland homered to center field scoring two and RT Corley ended the game with a run-scoring double.
"Great way to start the World Series,” said Clinton head coach Matt Stewart. “We hit well today and took advantage of our opportunities. Very proud of Caleb Taylor. We put him in a tough spot there in the second with runners on and no outs and he got us out of the inning without giving up a run on only 11 pitches. That turned the game around.”
With the win, Clinton (Team South Carolina) advances to play Tennessee, a 16-2 winner over Arkansas, on Monday at 4pm at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, AL.
