Wade Hampton edged Laurens 21-10 in junior varsity girls’ basketball in Greenville on Thursday evening.

A last-second three-pointer defeated Laurens in a game that was close from start to finish. The Generals led 6-5 after a quarter, the score was tied 11-11 at half, and the Raiders led 15-14 after three.

LDHS scorers were Angel Johnson with eight points, Wamaya Givens four, Amareeyuna Anderson three, Nya Anderson and Jamya Chappell with two each and Navia Blanding with one.

The Raiders visit Woodmont on Monday at 5:30 p.m.

Clinton swept its JV games at home against Union County.

The girls won easily, 27-13, behind nine points from Asia Boyd and five from Mia Smith.

The Red Devils edged the Yellow Jackets 36-34 in the boys’ game. Clinton led 20-13 at halftime, but Union pulled to within four, 25-21, after three quarters. Danny Kinard and Kaleb Richardson each scored nine.
