On Thursday, the Laurens County Sheriff’s office arrested an additional suspect in the November 4 murder of Miguel Gutierrez-Mendoza in Clinton.
Travis Lee Tukes of Anderson was arrested as part of the ongoing investigation. Tukes was taken into custody in Anderson County without incident and will be transported to Johnson Detention Center and booked on the charge of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
On November 4, at 2 a.m., deputies responded to a call at 18772 Hwy. 72 E. in Clinton, where they discovered a man, Gutierrez-Mendoza , suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He later succumbed to those injuries.
Investigators were called to the scene, along with the Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit. A resident of the home at the time of the incident, Osvaldo Antonio Flores, was arrested at the scene without incident.
