J.E. Satterfield started the game for LA going three innings giving up four runs on four hits with two strikeouts and no walks. With a 4-4 tie, Brandon Martin took the mound for three innings giving up two runs on three hits with one strikeout and no walks.
Martin led the 4th inning off with a solo homerun to break a 4-4 tie. Satterfield's second double of the game led to a 6-6 tie breaking score in the 6th.
With LA leading 7-6, Ryland Culbertson took the mound in the 7th, shutting down Woodruff's second, third and fourth place hitters with two strikeouts and a pop-up in the infield.
The LA offense was led by Satterfield who went three for four with two doubles, an RBI single and three runs scored. Taylor Sims was two for four with a double and a run scored. Michael Knight was two for three with a run scored. Griffin Shell and Tyler Mitchell both had RBI singles. Christian Greene and Sam Giddens also added singles.
The Crusaders improve to 2-1 on the season and will next face Batesburg-Leesville on Thursday at Laurens Academy. Game time is set for 7:00 pm.
