| Satterfield tosses perfect game as Crusaders advance to state championship series |

With a perfect game performance by pitcher Alex Satterfield, the Laurens Academy varsity baseball team swept the semifinal series of the SCISA A playoffs with a 15-0 win at Clarendon Hall in five innings on Wednesday night. The Crusaders defeated Clarendon Hall 17-0 in game one of the series on Monday at LA.
Satterfield improved to 2-0 going five innings with no hits, no walks, no runs and eight strikeouts.
The Crusaders recorded 13 hits and scored two runs in the first inning, three in the second, one in the third, four in the fourth and five in the fifth in the shutout victory.
Brandon Martin was 3-3 with two doubles, an RBI and four runs scored. Sam Giddens had an RBI double. JE Satterfield, Ryland Culbertson and Tyler Mitchell all added doubles. Jacob Greene, Taylor Sims, Caleb Sims and Griffin Shell each had RBI singles. Satterfield and Michael Knight added singles.
Laurens Academy improved to 14-7 on the season winning the semifinal series 2-0 and will begin the state championship series Monday at the winner of Patrick Henry and Coastal Christian.
