The Laurens Academy Crusaders dominated Spartanburg Day 23-1 on Thursday in Spartanburg. The Crusaders improve to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in region play.
Brandon Martin improved to 2-0 on the season pitching three scoreless innings allowing no hits and six walks. Taylor Sims pitched the final two frames giving up one run on no hits and five walks.
The Crusader offense scored 23 runs on 20 hits. Twelve different players recorded a hit. Taylor Sims was 5-5 with two doubles and three RBI. Christian Greene was 2-2 with a double and two RBI. Tanner Goff was 2-2 with an RBI. Whitson Verdin was 2-2 with two RBI. Michael Knight was 2-3 with two RBI. Brandon Martin hit a 3-run homerun in the 3rd.
