A Laurens man was charged with attempted murder after a shooting on North Harper Street.

On Tuesday, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a residence in response to a report of a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they located the victim, Tommy Williams, with an apparent gunshot wound to his lower extremities. Investigators quickly identified the shooter as Travis Omandell Miller and located him at a residence on Copeland Street.

Miller was taken into custody without incident and later transported to Johnson Detention Center. He will be charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon by a person convicted of a violent felony.

The victim was transported to a hospital to be treated for his injuries.
