After three days of online voting and over 1,700 ballots cast, David Henry is the top-ranked performer after the second round of Laurens Sings.
The top 12 finalists hit the stage on Thursday night and performed one song each for their chance to impress the fans and the judges at the Laurens Amphitheater.
Voting opened on Thursday night and concluded at midnight on Sunday night. The judges’ votes account for 51 percent of the total while online voting accounts for 49 percent of the total.
After the second round, the top 12 finalists are ranked 1 through 12 and the top-ranked performer wins $50.
Laurens Sings is a singing competition open to ages 8 and up. Laurens Sings offers participants a chance to sing each week during the three-week preliminaries. The last preliminary will be held on June 21 at 6:30pm at the Laurens Amphitheater.
After each week of performances, the Top 12 are ranked 1 through 12. The No. 1 ranked performer after the June 7 and June 14 performances receive $50. The No. 1 ranked performer after the June 21 performances will receive $100.
The Top 10 will perform in the finale on June 28. The winner will be announced at the Riverfront Freedom Festival on July 3. The winner of Laurens Sings will receive $1,000.
