LCSO deputy placed on unpaid leave after domestic violence charge

A deputy with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office has been placed on administrative leave without pay after being arrested and charged with domestic violence in Greenwood County.

Sgt. Jeremy McMahan was arrested on Saturday night by the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Greenwood County Detention Center.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was notified around 8:30pm on Saturday that deputies from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office had responded to the residence of Sgt. McMahan in regards to a domestic dispute. 

Chief Deputy Jarvis Reeder said that an internal investigation will also be conducted by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
