Third District Congressman Jeff Duncan recently presented The Order of the Palmetto – South Carolina’s highest civilian honor, bestowed by the governor – to Lance Williams of Laurens.

Williams earned the award from Gov. Henry McMaster “for his years of service to our district, our state and our nation,” in Duncan’s words.

“The impact he has made on so many lives will be felt for years to come,” Duncan said. “He has been a great mentor, advisor, and most importantly, a friend to me for many years, and he is extremely deserving of this honor.”

Williams, a Clemson graduate with an MBA from Brenau (Gainesville, Ga.), has served both Duncan and his predecessor in Congress, Gresham Barrett, as Chief of Staff.
