A Laurens man was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly making threats towards a school.
Deputies with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Wednesday at a residence on Torrington Rd. in Clinton. Deputies were originally dispatched to this location in reference to an altercation between siblings.
Upon their arrival, a white male fled on foot from the residence but was identified as 17-year-old Damon Keith Kempster.
During the course of their investigation, deputies were made aware of threats towards a school which were communicated by Kempster. He stated on a social media post that he was going to shoot a school, however he didn’t specify which school he was referencing.
Deputies later arrested Kempster at his residence on Torrington Rd. after he returned home. He was arrested without incident and transported to Johnson Detention Center.
Kempster is charged with Breach of Peace of a High and Aggravated Nature. Investigators have also been in contact with Clinton Public Safety to make them aware of the threats since Kempster lives in District 56.
