GREENVILLE – An incident at about 11 p.m. on Thursday led to the arrest of a Laurens man at Carolina Ale House on Woodruff Road.

Richard Gillespie Ramey, 54, of Trinity Church Road was charged at 1 a.m. on Friday with discharging a firearm within the Greenville city limits after police said he fired a handgun inside the restaurant. The handgun was found in his pants pocket, according to Greenville Police Department spokesman Donnie Porter.

Ramey was charged with use of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and unlawful carrying of a firearm.
