The Laurens District High School AP Physics 1 class recently held the 2018 Raider Regatta in the pool at the Family YMCA of Greater Laurens.

Students in AP Physics 1 have taken their AP exam and are spending the remainder of the semester ‘having fun with physics’, according to teacher Rob Sheffield.

Students were challenged to design and build a boat to cross the YMCA pool made entirely out of cardboard, duct tape, plastic bottles, and plastic tablecloths.  The winning team of Jeffry Carroll and Ben Carter were the first to reach the deep end of the pool.
