A Laurens woman has been arrested on charges indicating an alleged sexual relationship with a 15-year-old juvenile.
Laurens County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched on Tuesday to a location in Laurens in reference to a runaway juvenile.
A parent of the 15-year-old told deputies their son ran away and they believed he was with a 25-year-old woman. According to reports, the parents realized the juvenile was not in his bedroom after finding his window propped open and a ladder by the window.
The juvenile was located a short time later and returned to the parents. Deputies were concerned with the circumstances surrounding the juvenile running away so they contacted the Investigations Unit and informed them of the situation.
After the investigation was complete, Chasity Creasy Sherfield, 25, of Laurens, was arrested and charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor, second degree, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to warrants, deputies allege that Sherfield engaged in sexual acts with the juvenile on Aug. 25, Sept. 2 and Sept. 10.
