Construction is underway at Laurens Middle School on a pair of science labs that will be operational by the second semester of the 2019-20 school year.
Matrix Construction Company of Anderson is at work on the project. A smaller part of the job is venting work in some of the science labs at Laurens District High School. That work has not yet begun.
Laurens County School District 55 Director of Operations Dr. Rhett Harris said the LMS work was “a little slow getting started” due to the completion of necessary bureaucratic steps.
While the labs are intended for separate use by science classes, the project could occasionally be used for classroom space, if necessary.
