A barbecue is being held on Saturday, June 29, in Newberry to benefit the deputies from Laurens and Newberry counties who lost their home in a fire on June 2.
Adam Teseniar is a Laurens County deputy, and his wife, Amanda Carter, who holds a similar post in Newberry County, have five children.
A GoFundMe page, https://gofundme.com/officers-lose-home-to-fire, raised $6,250 of a $10,000 goal in just two days.
According to Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster, people have started donating furniture, but the family needs a house to put it in.
Pickup for the BBQ Fundraiser will be 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 29 at Ringer Enterprises, 117 Wilson Park Dr., Newberry. Tickets are $10 per plate. Each plate will have pulled pork, barbecued chicken green beens, slaw and bread. Tickets will be on sale until June 20 at: Ringer Enterprises; Unique Fitness Center, 1312 Main St., Newberry; and the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, 550 Wilson Rd., Newberry.
The caterer is Biggy Boys Barbeque of Newberry. All proceeds will go to the two deputies.
