Prisma Health Laurens County Hospital is sponsoring a free dinner for the first 50 through the door to demonstrate the benefits of the so-called Mediterranean Diet.
The dinner will be held at Friendship AME Church, 1118 S. Bell St., Clinton, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9.
Julie Goeckel and Cameron Bell of the hospital’s Nutrition Services will share information about the diet. Participants will learn about healthy foods in the diet and how such foods can help prevent chronic diseases. A cooking demo will also showcase the tasty foods that make up the Mediterranean Diet.
The event and dinner are free, but advance registration is encouraged. Those interested should call (864) 833-9131 and leave a voice message with contact name and number, or by emailing Jamie.Adair@PrismaHealth.org.
