Piedmont Technical College (PTC) is seeking thinkers, tinkerers and fixers for its Workforce Pathways Scholarship program, which offers tuition assistance for individuals who desire training in the high-demand fields of information technology, advanced manufacturing or health care.
Offered through the PTC Economic Development and Continuing Education division, Workforce Pathways Scholarships are available to students in the seven-county Piedmont Tech service area who are at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. Participants also must undergo a drug screen and background check.
The scholarship, which covers tuition, books and exam fees up to $2,000, allows students to enroll in continuing education classes and earn state and national certifications in fields such as certified nursing assistant, emergency medical technician, OSHA and Microsoft Office Specialist, as well as specialized manufacturing courses such as Six Sigma Yellow Belt and American Society for Quality certifications.
