City of Clinton Water Treatment Plant releases annual consumer confidence report

Some Laurens-area residents have been experiencing water-quality issues over the last few days.

The CPW is investigating the possible causes of this problem.

We suspect elevated levels of organic matter in Lake Rabon is the source of the problem,” John Young, General Manager of Laurens Commission of Public Works, said. “Our lab technicians are evaluating water samples, and we have sent samples to an independent lab to assist us in resolving this issue.

Without knowing specifically the cause, we can’t effectively treat the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please be assured that the CPW is doing everything we can to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.”

The CPW has verified that the water is completely safe to drink and use domestically. Please call the CPW at (864) 681-4300 if you have any questions or concerns.
