A Waterloo man was arrested in Greenwood on Tuesday and faces charges of armed robbery, failure to stop for a blue light and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.
Randy Royrique Parks, 35, was apprehended by Greenwood police who answered a call at a Li’l Cricket convenience store at 1208 Bypass 72 NE, where a store clerk informed them she had been robbed at gunpoint. The clerk described the man and said he had entered the store wearing a hoodie and covering his face with a scarf. He then pulled out a revolver and demanded money. The clerk told police she gave him the money in the register. He ran outside to a white SUV and left.
A manager arrived and showed officers the security video, which allowed the police to search for a vehicle that matched the one driven away by the suspect.
