Annie Jackson Kannee, 84, wife of the late Eugene Jay Kannee, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at NHC Healthcare in Laurens.
Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late William Wesley Jackson, Sr. and Ada Ophelia Benjamin Jackson. Annie spent most of her life in Washington, DC where she served as a secretary at the White House and the Civil Aeronautics Board. She retired in the Sun City Centers of Arizona and Florida, where she was always active in her church and was a Sunday School teacher throughout the years. Annie was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and won many kennel club shows with her maltese.
Surviving are her siblings, Milford Guy “Red” Jackson and wife Margaret of Laurens and Corrie Jackson Grether of Laurens; nieces and nephews, Frankie Jackson Robertson, Leslie Jackson, Stephanie Gillespie, Joel Price, Vincent Guy Jackson and Jill Jackson Bost; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Carolyn Jackson Price, Tom Jackson, William “Bill” Wesley Jackson, Jr., and Benjamin Joe Jackson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 12, 2018, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Rickey Letson. Entombment will be in Palm Beach Memorial Park in Lantana, FL.
