BATESBURG – Ruthie Moore scored 21 points and Jennifer Wu added 15 as Laurens Academy (12-3) defeated King, 48-31, in girls’ basketball Tuesday night.

Moore connected on 10 of her 19 field-goal attempts, and Wu hit half of her 12 attempts, two of which were three-pointers.

Florence Mitchell and Blair Quarles each added four points. Morgan Marlett and Payton Breen each chipped in two.

Chloe Herron led the Knights with 15 points.

The Crusaders also won the girls’ junior varsity game 29-3 over King, with Olivia Huck scoring 20 of them. She hit nine of her 14 field-goal attempts. King never scored until the fourth quarter.
