One youth football team from Laurens Parks & Recreation advanced and the other saw its season come to an end on Wednesday at Mauldin High School.

The 8-under team blanked Fountain Inn, 32-0.

Laurens maintained control from the opening kickoff, driving down the field in three plays, topped off with a TD run by Logan Bragg of 15 yards. The 2-point conversion failed.

After a Fountain Inn 3-and-out, Laurens needed only two plays, both runs by Dequavion Butler totaling 85 yards, but the conversion again failed.

From there Laurens continued to dominate as its defense gave up only 41 total yards of offense, and its offense pounded out 310 yards on the ground.

Laurens will now play for the SCAP Western District All-Star Championship next week. The site, date and time have not yet been determined.

Bragg rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns. Butler rushed for 95 yards and a score. Jaden Wilson rushed for 35 yards and a TD. Kevin Brison scored on a 4-yard run, and Elias Littleton had a 2-point conversion.

Fountain Inn defeated the 10-under team from Laurens, 28-8.

A touchdown and conversion put Fountain Inn up, 8-0, but Laurens knotted the score on Lincoln Alexander’s 1-yard run and Damajia Crooks’ conversion.

Fountain Inn scored just before half to go up 16-8 and added two more scores in the second half.

Elijah Cheeks rushed for 60 yards. Crooks gained 32 yards and added a 2-point conversion. Graydon Watkins rushed for 34 yards, Ajavian James 11 and Alexander nine.
