Austin Waldrop finished first in “Run Hog Wild,” a mile race run Saturday morning as part of the Squealin’ on the Square festival in Laurens.

It was a perfect day for the first annual Run Hog Wild one-mile sprint, run or walk,” Emily Dasher of the Laurens YMCA said. “We are excited to begin this effort that will benefit many persons in our community through the scholarship program at the Y and the City of Laurens Police Department Christmas for Children program. We are proud of our sponsor, Self Region Healthcare-Orthopaedic Associates of the Lakelands. We look forward to continued success annually with this fundraiser. We are grateful to Main Street Laurens and Jonathan Irick for including this event within the Squealin’ on the Square menu.”
