Laurens wrapped up a season sweep of county rival Clinton on Wednesday, thumping the Red Devils, 10-2 at Ed Prescott Field on Senior Night.

Yet each team had nine hits. Each team had two doubles and thus 11 total bases.

Clinton (4-9) committed three errors and two pitchers combined to issue five walks. Laurens (12-7) scored two runs in the first inning, three in the third, one in the fourth and four in the sixth.

The third spot in each batting order, third baseman Jalen Bragg for the Raiders and catcher Konnor Richardson for the Red Devils, produced two singles and a double. Tanner Smith and Luke Willis had two hits apiece for Laurens. Kimon Quarles, Griffin Fuller and Caleb Riddle each had two safeties for Clinton.

Kobe Williams, the LDHS starter, went five innings, allowing six hits, walking one and striking out three. Eric Jones and Jalen Bragg each pitched an inning in relief.

Losing pitcher Judson Watkins and Austin divided the damage between them. Nine of the 10 Raider runs were earned.

In the four-run Laurens sixth, Jalen Bragg, Williams and Willis each drove in a run, and Heath Bragg crossed the plate due to a Clinton wild pitch.

The Raiders won the earlier game between the two schools by a score of 9-2.
