Presbyterian College football had six players represented on Phil Steele’s 2019 Preseason All-Big South Team.

Linebacker Colby Campbell was selected to the second team, while wide receiver Keith Pearson, offensive lineman Eli Teeselink, linebacker Jarrett Nagy, as well as defensive backs Dirk Cureton and Rod Haygood earned third-team honors.

Campbell, Nagy, Pearson and Teeselink all earned 2019 Big South All-Conference honors as voted on by the league coaches during the preseason annual awards announcement.

PC opens the 2019 campaign on August 31 when it travels to Stetson for a 7 p.m. matchup with the Hatters.

Colby Campbell, Linebacker, Second Team

Campbell led the team and the conference in tackles this season as he recorded 90, tied for seventh-most in a single-season in PC’s Division I era. The sophomore had four games with double-digit tackles this season, with a career-high 14 coming on two separate occasions against Austin Peay and Campbell.

Keith Pearson, Wide Receiver, Third Team

Pearson recorded a team-high 565 receiving yards during the 2018 season with a pair of touchdowns on 52 catches. He tied for second in the league with his 52 receptions.

Eli Teeselink, Offensive Lineman, Third Team

Teeselink played and started in all 10 games. He has made 28 straight starts including each of the last two years. The Blue Hose center recorded 38 knockdowns and had 32 first down/touchdown blocks during the 2018 season as he didn’t allow a sack.

Jarrett Nagy, Linebacker, Third Team

Nagy led all freshman in the Big South with 89 total tackles, which was second on the team, just one behind fellow linebacker Campbell. The freshman had five games with at least 10 tackles, including three contests with a career-high 12 tackles.

Dirk Cureton, Defensive Back, Third Team

Cureton led all Blue Hose defensive backs with 53 tackles, which was tied for fourth on the team. The Charlotte native recorded four pass breakups and recovered a pair of fumbles during the 2018 season.

Rod Haygood, Defensive Back, Third Team

Haygood started in nine games during the 2018 season as he totaled 40 tackles with a career-high six tackles on three separate occasions. The junior recorded four pass breakups in a game against Gardner-Webb and had three against Monmouth as he had a team-high eight for the year.
