The University of Louisville has apparently supplanted East Carolina University at the front of the Duane Martin derby.
The Laurens District High School fullback/linebacker attended the SatterDay Night Live event, so named for new Cardinals head coach Scott Satterfield, and announced a commitment that apparently supersedes his earlier commitment to the Pirates.
Martin, a 6-1, 235 rising senior for the Raiders, had planned to play linebacker at ECU. Louisville plans to use him as an H-back and tight end.
Among other offers he has entertained were from Appalachian State, where Satterfield formerly coached; Coastal Carolina; and Wofford.
Last year, as a junior, Martin rushed for 973 yards and scored 15 touchdowns for an LDHS squad that lost to Rock Hill in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.
